Irrigation Evaluations
Irrigation Evaluations are carried out for two main reasons.
- To check a system which is having repeated problems such as mainline blow outs, pump failures etc.
- To establish the irrigations performance measured against a number of key performance indicators such as distribution uniformity, application depth etc. as set out in the Irrigation NZ 'Irrigation Evaluation Code of Practice'
Both types of evaluation require different approaches and different training and skills by the person carrying out the evaluation.
Although the code or practice sets out the methods of measuring system efficiency, it doesn't provide solutions to many of the problems commonly encountered in a system. Providing solutions can be achieved when the evaluator has the technical design knowledge and experience to fully understand how the system works and what can be done to improve it.
Grant's formal training along with his practical experience make him well qualified to provide sound solutions to his clients.
